On November 29, the 200,000th BYD Seagull model officially rolled off the assembly line. Released in China at the end of April, Seagull surpassed this milestone in just seven months.
The car, which is priced between $10,400 and $12,600, has carved out a niche in China’s competitive electric vehicle market. BYD Seagull’s sales have increased every month since it went on sale in China. BYD Seagull’s wholesale sales reached 43,350 units in October. The graph below shows the monthly sales volume of BYD Seagull after its launch. BYD Seagull achieved sales of 66,000 vehicles within 100 days of launch. It is one of BYD’s fastest growing models in terms of production capacity and sales after its launch.

Let’s remember that Seagull is a 5-door, 4-seater model based on the BYD 3.0 electronic platform and belonging to the Ocean series. Dimensions are 3780 mm in length, 1715 mm in width and 1540 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2500 mm.
All Seagull variants are equipped with a single 74 hp engine. and maximum torque of 135 Nm. The maximum speed that Seagull can reach is 130 km/h.
The main difference is the battery options. The older version is equipped with a 38.88 kWh battery, providing a range of 405 km. The other two configurations come with a battery capacity of 30.08 kWh, providing a range of 305 km. Both variants use an LFP Blade battery and support fast charging up to 40 kW, allowing the Seagull to charge from 30 to 80% in 30 minutes.
