The car also showed ultra-low electricity consumption when driving without gasoline.
The joint venture GAC Honda, which produces the Accord e:PHEV sedan in China, announced that it had achieved a record for driving range: the car with a tester behind the wheel was able to overcome 2132.7 km on a tank of gasoline.
Of course, during the race, the main goal was to travel as far as possible with the available fuel supply, so the movement was carried out in the most economical mode, which has practically nothing in common with the driving mode of an ordinary owner. However, the experiment shows that if you set your mind to it, the Accord e:PHEV can be turned into a real long-range vehicle.
2137 km on a tank of gas. 5-meter Honda Accord sedan sets a record for driving range
Also during the experiment, miracles of efficiency were demonstrated when driving without gasoline – using a traction battery. Consumption was only 8.71 kWh per 100 km – this is very little. Using a traction battery with a capacity of 17.7 kWh, the 5-meter sedan drove 203.2 km.
The Honda Breeze e:PHEV crossover also took part in the race; its result was slightly worse: 1936.1 km and 172 km on pure electricity.
