Contrast ratio of 1,000,000: 1, display covers 119% of the NTSC color space
Chinese display manufacturer BOE Technology has introduced a 55-inch 4K Active Matrix Quantum Dot (AMQLED) display.

The 55-inch display 4K AMQLED display uses electroluminescent quantum dot technology and has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The contrast is 1,000,000: 1 and the display covers 119% of the NTSC color space.
AMQLED displays do not need backlighting as quantum dots can emit light. It has the advantages of self-luminescence, wide color gamut and long life.
So far, BOE Technology has not announced which manufacturer’s TVs will initially have such a screen.
