The correspondent of Rossiyskaya Gazeta has collected exclusive details about the BJ40 SUV, which is called the Chinese copy of the famous Jeep Wrangler.
Recall that yesterday it became known that the Kaliningrad Avtotor assembled a test batch of Chinese SUVs BAIC BJ40. “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” specifies that at the moment the plant has already produced 60 BAIC BJ40 cars and continues to prepare for mass production, which will begin in July this year.

BAIC BJ40 is pleasantly different from the Jeep Wrangler, in particular the price, which starts from 3,760,000 rubles. The car received a 225-horsepower 2-liter engine, while the factory confirmed that the engine can be refueled with 92-m gasoline. The engine transmits 380 Nm of torque to all four wheels. The volume of the gas tank is 75 liters.
The overall dimensions of the BJ40 are 4630 x 1925 x 1871 mm. The car received a set of active safety assistants, which can be turned off if necessary. An 8-speed ZF automatic transmission paired with an electronically controlled transfer case makes it possible to use only rear-wheel drive and include all-wheel drive and a low range. In this case, the torque is approximately doubled.
The body can be transformed by removing the roof. In addition, it is known that the depth of the ford to be overcome is 70 cm.
