That’s what AMD says
AMD has already admitted that at least several thousand Radeon RX 7900 XTX video cards with problematic cooling systems have hit the market. Now we know that this is only a small percentage of the total.
In an interview, AMD Radeon senior vice president and general manager Scott Herkelman said that we are talking about a small number of adapters.
It all comes down to the fact that a small batch of evaporation chambers actually have a problem, not enough water. This is a very small percentage of cases.
How many percent of the cards suffered, is still not reported. At the same time, AMD claims that recent rumors about the shortage of reference cards for replacement are allegedly false. True, in this case, either completely different people are lying that they received letters from AMD in the process of approving the card return procedure, or the AMD employees themselves, who wrote those letters, made a mistake.
It is also worth noting that so far there has not been a single case of the RX 7900 XTX failing due to overheating.
