Japanese manufacturers have their own view of what a smartphone should be
Sharp introduced the new flagship smartphone Aquos R8 Pro based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 single-chip system to the home market in Japan. The novelty turned out to be interesting – with an original approach to performance.
For example, Sharp traditionally does not pursue the number of sensors in the main camera. There are two of them. Main – 47-megapixel optical format 1 inch. This module works in conjunction with a sensor with a resolution of 1.9 megapixels. The front camera has a sensor with a resolution of 12.6 megapixels.
Alternative flagship Sharp Aquos R8 Pro presented
The display is OLED, made using IGZO technology. The diagonal is 6.6 inches, the resolution is WUXGA +. The maximum frame rate reaches 240 Hz, and the peak brightness is 2000 cd / sq.m. Below the display is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Sharp Aquos R8 Pro received 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory. The battery capacity was 5000 mAh, it supports wireless charging. There is also IP68 protection and a standard headphone jack.
Sharp Aquos R8 Pro is running Android 13: the device is promised three years of major updates (that is, it will receive Android 16) and five years of security updates.
