AMD releases recommendations for FSR 3

AMD yesterday introduced FSR 3 upscaling technology and Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) frame generation technology. Initially it was reported that FSR 3 is an open source software with support for different graphics cards. Now there are details.

AMD recommends using certain models, but this does not mean that the technology will not work on others.

So, for FSR 3 with frame generation, AMD says support for cards from Radeon RX 5700 and newer and recommends RX 6000 series cards or newer. For Nvidia adapters, in the same order, we are talking about RTX 20 and RTX 30 cards.

AMD notes that it does not recommend using frame generation on products that are weaker or older than those specified. How frame generation works will depend on the capabilities of the GPU, but only tests will show how things work on adapters outside the list.

If someone wants to use FSR 3 without generating frames, then the list will be wider. For adapters from AMD itself, we are talking about support for models from Radeon RX 590 and newer, while cards from RX 5000 and newer are recommended. For Nvidia models, in the same order, these are GTX 10 and RTX 20 cards.

Recall that FSR 3 will appear in the games Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum in the fall
