The company reported for the third quarter of fiscal year 2023
A few days after Intel, AMD also published its financial report. The company has completed the third quarter of fiscal year 2023.
If Intel’s revenue decreased and net profit fell by more than 70%, then AMD’s situation is better. Revenue rose 8% to $5.8 billion, and operating profit amounted to $224 million versus a loss of $64 million a year earlier. Net income rose more than 1,000% to $299 million.
AMD’s net profit grew by 1000% and equaled Intel’s net profit
By the way, Intel’s net profit was only $1 million higher, which is very interesting. At the same time, Intel’s revenue is almost 2.5 times higher than that of its competitor.
It’s also worth noting that the data center products segment did not grow year-on-year in the past quarter, although it has been actively driving AMD’s revenue upward in recent years. However, sales in the consumer segment increased by 42%, mainly due to the full entry into the market of Ryzen 7000 mobile APUs.
AMD’s gaming business fell 8% due to lower revenue from sales of semi-custom products.
