Components may include the Digital Crown, side button, and action button, as these are the only mechanical parts of the Apple Watch Ultra. These titanium parts are currently CNC machined.

The change can shorten production time and reduce costs. Kuo believes that if shipments from suppliers are successful, more Apple products will be made using 3D printing technology in the future. The official debut of the Apple Watch Ultra is expected in the fall of 2023.

Ming-Chi Kuo is known for his connections to the manufacturing supply chain. He has a long track record and specializes in Apple products. For example, in 2011, he predicted the exact date of the start of sales of the delayed white iPhone 4, and in 2012, the MacBook Pro with a Retina screen. In 2013, Kuo accurately described the iPhone 5s with Touch ID fingerprint scanner, and recently his prediction for a mixed reality headset came true.
