Arlene Winnick, a seasoned entertainment publicist with over three decades of experience, has passed away at the age of 77. Winnick’s career spanned a wide range of clients, including major studios, iconic landmarks, and renowned celebrities.

A Career of Excellence

Winnick’s journey in the entertainment industry began in the early days of home video. She played a pivotal role in marketing and publicity campaigns for exercise tapes featuring fitness icons like Richard Simmons, Jane Fonda, and Zsa Zsa Gabor. Her expertise in this emerging field helped to shape the home video industry.

Throughout her career, Winnick worked with a diverse range of clients, including Universal Studios Hollywood, Madame Tussauds, Warner Bros. Studio Tour, the Carousel of Hope gala, TCL Chinese Theatres, and Ripley’s Believe It or Not. Her contributions to these organizations were invaluable, and she played a key role in their success.

A Legacy of Handprints

One of Winnick’s most notable achievements was her involvement in handprint-footprint ceremonies at the TCL Chinese Theatre. She worked closely with renowned figures such as James Cameron, Jon Landau, Keanu Reeves, and the cast of the Avengers films to immortalize their legacies in Hollywood history.

Beyond Entertainment

In addition to her work in entertainment, Winnick had a successful career in the food/restaurant and travel/tourism industries. She represented prestigious establishments like Raffles L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, Le Meridien Beverly Hills, and Lake Arrowhead Resort + Spa.

A Passion for Writing

Winnick’s passion for the entertainment industry extended beyond publicity. She also served as a senior writer at L.A. Arts Online, where she reviewed numerous events and shows. Her contributions to the publication provided valuable insights and commentary on the arts scene.

A Life of Service

Winnick was a dedicated volunteer at Project Angel Food, a nonprofit organization that provides meals to people living with AIDS. Her commitment to giving back to her community is a testament to her compassionate nature.
