As part of the gaming PC Lenovo Legion T7 lit up GeForce RTX 3070 Ti with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory

At the disposal of the VideoCardz resource was information that suggests that Lenovo is going to release a new Legion T7 gaming PC, which will offer new graphics cards NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3080. Another interesting detail is that the quality and additional option Lenovo will be able to offer the installation of a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti with 16 GB of video memory of the GDDR6 standard.

Recall that yesterday NVIDIA introduced a new generation of GeForce graphics cards based on the new Ampere microarchitecture. The announced models include GeForce RTX 3090, GeForce RTX 3080, and GeForce RTX 3070. The latter is equipped with only 8 GB of GDDR6 video memory. There was no question of a more productive version of the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti with a doubled video memory.

Unfortunately, in the list of technical specifications for the Lenovo Legion T7 gaming PC, the company does not indicate the manufacturer of the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, which will be used in this assembly. The gaming computer itself will be able to offer the Intel Z490 motherboard and the Comet Lake-S generation Core i9-10900K or Core i7-10700K processor as a basis. In other words, we are really talking about the replenishment of the Legion gaming series of computers from the Chinese manufacturer.

What’s more interesting, it is not yet reliably known which new GeForce RTX 3070 model – Ti or SUPER – we are talking about. The VideoCardz resource drew attention to the fact that for all the graphics card options announced for the Lenovo gaming PC, the manufacturer indicates the use of GDDR6 video memory. However, it is known that the new GDDR6X memory is used in the GeForce RTX 3090 and GeForce RTX 3080. It is very likely that NVIDIA simply did not inform Lenovo about this fact in time.

By the way, until the very last moment, the manufacturer of graphics chips was in no hurry to share with its partners the official specifications of graphics chips for new generation Ampere video cards. According to the source, the final BIOS version of the video cards was released just a few days ago. At the same time, NVIDIA kept a secret for a long time the exact number of FP32 SM GPU units. As a result, many video card manufacturers yesterday indicated on their websites the wrong number of CUDA cores in the GPU of their solutions – 5248 for the GeForce RTX 3090, 4352 for the GeForce RTX 3080, and 2944 for the GeForce RTX 3070. Although in fact, their number is as follows: 10496, 8704 and 5888 respectively. In other words, Lenovo may still rely on the technical data that was provided to it a few weeks ago.
