ASRock Unveils Radeon RX 6900 XT OC Formula – Huge Graphics Card with Powerful 21 Phase Power Subsystem
ASRock has unveiled the Radeon RX 6900 XT OC Formula graphics accelerator. The novelty feature is a passive cooling system and a very powerful 21-phase power subsystem for the GPU and memory.
The Radeon RX 6900 XT OC Formula’s cooling system consists of a metal shroud, a large two-piece aluminum heatsink with seven nickel-plated copper pipes and a copper base, and three fans. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not specify the size of the latter. The video card dimensions are 332 × 137 × 61 mm, and it weighs 1784 grams. In a PC case, the novelty will take three expansion slots.
The graphics accelerator’s appearance is complemented by ARGB-backlighting, which is controlled using the proprietary Polychrome SYNC application.
At the heart of the Radeon RX 6900, XT OC Formula is a Navi 21 GPU with 5120 stream processors. The graphics accelerator is equipped with two BIOS systems, offering performance (P) and quiet (Q) modes of operation. GPU frequency in P-mode BIOS (Boost and Game) reaches 2475 and 2295 MHz, respectively. The silent operation provides a Boost frequency of 2365 MHz, while in gaming loads, it is 2165 MHz. The card is equipped with 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory with an effective frequency of 16 GHz and a 256-bit bus.
For additional power supply, the video card is equipped with three 8-pin connectors. For the Radeon RX 6900 XT OC Formula, the manufacturer recommends using a 1000W PSU. The set of external interfaces includes three DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.1.
Nothing has been reported about the cost of the new item and its availability.
