It should be released in January 2021

Asus has responded to the source’s posting that the manufacturer has no plans to add AMD Ryzen 5000 processor support to X470 motherboards.

Asus promises to release BIOS update for X470 and B450 boards to support AMD Ryzen 5000 series, processors

The reason for the assumption that there were no such plans was the answer of the Asus technical support representative to the question of one of the users of the Crosshair VII Hero X470 board regarding the prospects for the release of the corresponding BIOS update.

Asus responds to the information that “Asus will provide an updated BIOS for the X470 and B450 chipsets based on AMD’s current schedule for the release of new AGESA code in January 2021. The original answer was based on incorrect information. “

Thus, owners of “old” boards considering the possibility of upgrading their systems by replacing the processor with a model of the AMD Ryzen 5000 series can breathe freely – they will not have to change the board.
