AvtoVAZ commented on the news that the start of production of the Lada Niva Sport SUV is scheduled for September 2024.

Earlier, at our request, the AvtoVAZ press secretary did not answer so unequivocally: “We do not disclose the technical details of new products before their premiere.”
Let us remind you that a feature of the sports version of the SUV should be a new engine, which was previously installed only on the company’s front-wheel drive models. It was reported that the technology of installing “front-wheel drive” engines will be tested on this car, and then the solution will appear in Legend and Travel.

Niva Sport also differs from the regular version of the model in the presence of thresholds, a snorkel, additional lighting equipment, LED foglights, tires, Powered by Lada Sport nameplates, seats with developed lateral support, as well as other gearbox and transfer case levers.
It is expected that Niva Sport will be equipped with a 122-horsepower 1.8-liter engine.
