“At the previous press conference, I announced plans for the P90 project. There were negotiations between AvtoVAZ and Pars Khodro. A new round of negotiations starts soon. But when it will be and what will happen, I can’t say anything,” said Abbas Mirzai Ghazi.

The Autonews.ru publication turned to the AvtoVAZ press service for a comment, and they replied that no negotiations were underway. The company also announced an imminent meeting between AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov and the Iranian Ambassador. However, “it is definitely not and will not be about the former projects and cars of Renault at AvtoVAZ.”

The first generation Renault Logan was produced in Iran from 2007 to 2018 under the name Renault Tondar 90. In 2020, Saipa announced the P90 project, planning to significantly remake the Tondar 90. In 2022, the project was handed over to Pars Khodro. According to rumors, the updated Logan will receive a 1.5-liter 112-horsepower engine from Saipa Shahin or a 1.6-liter ME16 engine with power from 108 to 115 hp.
