An engineering center opens in St. Petersburg on November 8
AvtoVAZ will open its new engineering center in St. Petersburg, as stated by the company’s President and CEO Maxim Sokolov during a speech at the “National Technological Revolution 20.35” conference.
“Starting tomorrow, in a solemn ceremony, we will open our engineering center in St. Petersburg,” said Maxim Sokolov.
AvtoVAZ will begin developing new Lada models not only in Tolyatti
The first and so far only AvtoVAZ scientific and technical center is located in Tolyatti, but in 2022 another automobile plant in St. Petersburg became the property of the company. The site, which belonged to Japanese Nissan, is now called “Lada St. Petersburg”, and in June it began producing the LADA X-Cross 5, equipped with a 160-horsepower turbocharged engine and a 7-speed automatic transmission, based on the FAW Bestune T77.
AvtoVAZ is currently testing a new Lada Iskra model.
