Ayaneo has unveiled the Air 1S handheld game console, which offers a unique combination of high performance and compact size. In terms of dimensions, this console is even smaller than the Nintendo Switch, and surpasses the Steam Deck in terms of performance.
The heart of the Air 1S is the Ryzen 7 7840U APU, which is almost the same as in Asus ROG Ally. True, the Asus box is still more powerful, since the new Ayaneo limits the AMD processor to 20W in portable mode and 25W when connected to power. But this is enough to significantly outperform Steam Deck.
At the same time, the console is very compact. Its dimensions are only 224 x 90 x 21.6 mm and weighs 450 g. This is less than the Switch, although the Nintendo console is still much lighter. Still, the Air 1S is, according to the manufacturer, “probably” the thinnest and lightest set-top box with Windows.

Such dimensions are primarily due to the display. It uses an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of only 5.5 inches, but with Full HD resolution. From the rest, we can note the battery with a capacity of 38 Wh, which is slightly less than that of Steam Deck, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, USB4, microSD slot. The amount of memory has not yet been specified, as well as the price. But the console will soon appear on Indiegogo.
