A Glimpse into a Cancelled Game

Despite its cancellation, leaked footage of The Last Job has surfaced, offering a glimpse into the game’s development. The game was in production for approximately a year and had reached 40% completion before development was halted.

Gameplay and Mechanics

The Last Job featured a team-based approach, with players controlling four criminals, each possessing unique skills. The objective was to execute daring heists, such as robbing warehouses, exhibitions, and yachts, while evading security guards, police, and special forces.

The game offered a third-person perspective, allowing players to navigate environments and engage in combat. To avoid detection, players could utilize cover and stealth tactics.

Development and Involvement of Former SAS Member

The development of The Last Job was led by a team of approximately 40 talented individuals. Notably, a former member of the SAS, an elite British military unit, contributed to the game’s development, bringing expertise in tactical operations and combat scenarios.

Leaked Footage and Unfinished Elements

The leaked footage reveals that The Last Job was not fully completed at the time of its cancellation. There are noticeable errors and unfinished elements, such as the possibility of falling through the map. Despite these imperfections, the footage provides valuable insights into the game’s potential and the creative vision of its developers.

A Lost Opportunity

The cancellation of The Last Job is a disappointment for fans of the PlayStation 2 era. The game showcased promise with its unique gameplay mechanics, engaging narrative, and potential for exciting heists. Had it been released, it could have become a beloved classic.
