Unlike Maiden, the upcoming “probe” will be limited in time: players will have only 60 minutes to explore the castle and the village. The whole hour, if desired, can be spent in one of the locations.

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners will be able to check out both parts of the demo before the rest. Each of the two 30-minute segments will be available for download and play for only 8 hours (preload is already open):

  • Village – from April 18 (20:00 Moscow time) to April 19 (until 4:00);
  • Castle – from April 25 (20:00 Moscow time) to April 26 (until 4:00).

The full demo will be released on all Resident Evil Village target platforms – PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S – on May 2 at 3:00 AM ET and will remain available for download for 24 hours.

Capcom also revealed what performance and resolution metrics (and operating modes) to expect in Resident Evil Village on consoles:

  • PlayStation 5 – 4K @ 45 fps (with ray tracing) and 4K @ 60 fps (without);
  • PlayStation 4 Pro – 4K @ 30fps (in quality mode) and 1080p @ 60fps (in performance mode);
  • PlayStation 4 – 900p @ 45fps;
  • Xbox Series X – 4K @ 45 fps (with ray tracing) and 4K @ 60 fps (without);
  • Xbox Series S – 1440p @ 30fps (with ray tracing) and 1440p @ 45fps (without);
  • Xbox One X – 4K @ 30fps (in quality mode) and 1080p @ 60fps (in performance mode);
  • Xbox One – 900p @ 30fps
