The basic version has fallen in price by $4,100

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 2024 model range has dropped significantly in price in the new model year. The base price has been reduced by $4,100, meaning the entry-level SE trim now starts at $38,615.

What prompted Hyundai to cut prices on the Ioniq 6? A brand spokesperson told car and driver that this is a side effect of the company’s “efficiency and scale of production.”

The most affordable Ioniq 6 is the rear-wheel drive SE with a standard 53.0 kWh battery. All other models have a larger 77.4 kWh battery, which can be had in the SE RWD for $43,565. Adding all-wheel drive increases the price to $47,065. Compared to their 2023 counterparts, both variants are now $3,050 cheaper.

The SEL and Limited are the top trim levels of the Ioniq sedan, each costing $2,450 less than last year. For 2024, the SEL RWD starts at $43,565 and the Limited RWD starts at $51,265. The new discount applies to their dual-motor, all-wheel-drive twins, which have base prices of $49,895 and $54,765, respectively.

With the smaller battery, the 149-horsepower Ioniq 6 has an EPA-estimated range of 386 miles. The larger battery allows rear-wheel drive configurations to achieve a range of up to 580 km.

It is worth adding that various publications and awards recognized the Hyundai Ioniq 6 as the car of the year. In particular, he won the World Car Of The Year (WCOTY) competition.
