Chanel and Tribeca’s Through Her Lens: A Celebration of Female Filmmakers in 2024

The 2024 edition of Tribeca and Chanel’s Through Her Lens initiative is set to be a groundbreaking event, once again showcasing the talents of emerging female filmmakers. This year’s program, taking place from September 17 to 19 in New York City, will feature a stellar lineup of industry leaders and promising creatives.

A Star-Studded Jury and Mentorship Team

The jury for the 2024 Through Her Lens program is comprised of renowned figures in the film industry, including Olivia Wilde, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Lucy Liu. Joining them as mentors are Pamela Adlon, Mara Brock Akil, Janicza Bravo, and Molly Gordon, who will share their expertise and guidance with the participating filmmakers.

Empowering Female Filmmakers

Through Her Lens is a three-day workshop designed to provide a platform for talented female filmmakers to develop their projects and connect with industry professionals. Participants will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with mentors, refine their pitches, and ultimately present their work to a distinguished jury.

A Winning Project

The winning team will receive full financing to produce their short film with support from Tribeca Studios, while the four runner-up projects will be awarded grant funds for development. This unique opportunity offers filmmakers the chance to bring their visions to life and make a lasting impact on the film industry.

  • Alyssa Loh’s Copy, Save: A contemporary story about two teenage sisters navigating the complexities of online life and the ethical dilemmas it presents.
  • Jahmil Eady’s Haint: A supernatural thriller set in a gentrifying Gullah Geechee community, exploring themes of cultural heritage and ancestral knowledge.
