Salon shown for the first time
Chery introduced the serial version of the iCar 03 crossover, the concept of which was shown only in April this year.
The number in the name means the class – the triple in this case indicates belonging to the C-segment. iCar 03 dimensions are 4200 x 1830 x 1700 mm with a wheelbase of 2700 mm. Chery is positioning it as an SUV with a blocky design, high bonnet line, wide fenders, vertical running lights and “i” taillights.
Externally, the serial car completely repeats the concept. At the presentation, the interior was hidden behind dark panels, later it became known that it was not a full-fledged car, but a concept without interior and suspension system. Now for the first time showed the inside of the car.
Chery iCar 03 production version unveiled
The car received a steering wheel with a slightly cut top and bottom, as well as buttons and a gear selector. On the door handles are visible buttons that are responsible for opening the doors, and wireless charging for a smartphone. Climate control is controlled through an additional touch panel located in front of the front passenger. Probably, the same can be done with the main screen with a diagonal of about 15 inches.
iCar 03 will be equipped with two electric motors, which will match the power of the 2.5-liter turbo engine. The iCar 03 EV will hit the Chinese market in the fourth quarter of this year. The range of the car with a fully charged battery will be more than 500 km. And later, a version with a power reserve of 1000 km is expected. The equipment will include the iCar Smart Cabin system with more than 20 sensors and 10 driving modes. iCar 03 will offer L2+ level autopilot, where you can’t take your hands off the steering wheel.
Production will start in October, and the price will be just over $20,000.
