All these are measures to improve airflow around the body.
At the Chery Technology Day event, the Chinese company presented not only a completely serial SUV Fengyun T9, but also a concept called Aero. Its special feature is its ultra-low air resistance coefficient Cd – it is only 0.168.
The Aero is not a small car at all: length – 5.3 m, width – 2.1 m, height – 1.4 m. The ground clearance is quite decent even for a production car – 120 mm. In general, the Aero does not look like a car from the distant future, but rather like a pre-production prototype.
Chery presented the most aerodynamic car in the world.
To improve aerodynamics, the exterior mirrors were removed (they were replaced with cameras), the classic door handles (they are retractable), and the radiator grille (which is typical for an electric car). At the rear, there is a full-width ducktail spoiler and an unusually shaped diffuser. The wheels are covered with illuminated caps, and so-called active aerodynamics are also used: an air intake in the front with louvers, deflectors in the wheel area, and fender liners.
