Nearly a decade has passed since the tragic death of Paul Walker, who was just 40 years old when he lost his life in a car accident. However, his memory continues to live on, thanks to his brother Cody, who has found a touching way to honor the late actor.

As reported in People magazine, Cody Walker and his wife Felicia recently welcomed their newborn son, whom they named Paul Barrett (“Bear”) Walker, paying tribute to the beloved star of the “Fast & Furious” franchise. The baby boy was born last month, and Cody explained the significance behind the name choice.

“This November will mark 10 years since we lost my brother, Paul, and I just felt now was the appropriate time,” Cody Walker shared with the publication. “My brother, Paul, was Paul William Walker IV, and that name goes back four generations. Within the family, he went by ‘little Paul’ or ‘Paul 4,’ even though he quickly outgrew our father in height. It was important to me to have that name carry on.”

While CNN has reached out to representatives of Cody Walker to verify the news, the act of naming his son after his late brother serves as a beautiful and meaningful remembrance.

Paul Walker tragically passed away in late November 2013, while “Furious 7” was still in production. After a production hiatus, filming resumed with Cody Walker and their brother Caleb stepping in as stand-ins for the late star.
