Dell unveils four variable refresh rate gaming monitors
Dell has unveiled four new gaming monitors, three of which have a curved screen. The manufacturer notes that all displays support AMD FreeSync Premium or Premium Pro and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology. So you can enjoy a high-quality picture without artifacts not only on a PC but also on the next-generation game consoles Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. True, the PS5 has not yet received the promised VRR support.
Like AMD FreeSync, VRR allows the screen to sync with the connected GPU and display images at the same frame rate that the PC or console currently provides. This ensures tear-free and reduced stuttering in addition to low input lag compared to classic V-Sync technology.
The senior segment of its displays Dell has replenished with an ultra-wide 34-inch novelty S3422DWG with a radius of curvature of 1800R. This model will appear on May 7 in China, then on May 27 in the United States, and from June 22 will be sold worldwide. The monitor is based on a VA-matrix with a resolution of WQHD (3440 × 1440 pixels) and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Dell claims compliance with the DisplayHDR 400 standard for the new product and has a 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
The company also introduced the 32-inch S3222DGM and the 27-inch S2722DGM. Both are equipped with VA matrices. Each is claimed to have a resolution of 1440p, a refresh rate of 165 Hz, and a response of 2 ms. The radius of curvature of the 32-inch version is 1800R, and the 27-inch version is 1500R. Both monitors will also first appear in China on May 7 and will go on sale internationally on June 22.
Among the new products is also the compact 24.5-inch model S2522HG. The monitor is based on a flat IPS-matrix with Full HD resolution. The screen refresh rate of this model is 240 Hz, the response is 1 ms. In addition to AMD FreeSync support, the monitor offers G-Sync compatibility. In China, sales of this new item will begin on May 7. The monitor will go on sale internationally on May 27.
Each of the four Dell monitor models featured offers a height, tilt, and swivel adjustable foot. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not report the price of new products.
