These machines account for 85% of sales
Information has appeared about which versions of the crossovers of the revived Moskvich brand are preferred by Russians today.
The information was presented to Rossiyskaya Gazeta at official Moskvich car dealerships, which confirmed that today 85% of sales of brand gasoline crossovers come from cars equipped with CVTs. One of the reasons is that there are few cars with a manual gearbox in warehouses.
The demand for Moskvich cars with a manual transmission is significant, about half of the customers are interested in them. As the availability of the corresponding trim levels increases, I believe that the sales volume of versions with “mechanics” will grow and amount to 20-25%.
Farewell, manual transmission? Moskvich and dealers transfer customers to the CVT
At the same time, I do not think that the manufacturer will go out of its way to fully satisfy the demand for “mechanics”. Still, the gradual abandonment of it is a global trend, and the difference in price, especially when buying a car on credit, is not critical. Therefore, “transplanting” such customers to the CVT looks more appropriate, both from the point of view of the manufacturer and from the point of view of dealers.
Previously, Petrovsky dealerships in Moscow and St. Petersburg collected statistics that show which cars are transferred to Moskvich 3 crossovers, handing over their cars by trade-in .
