From $32,500
The new 2024 Fiat 500e returns to the US after a short hiatus, with a starting price of $32,500.
Like its predecessor, the new 500e has two doors, four seats, retro styling and compact dimensions that allow it to squeeze into the tightest parking space. At the same time, Fiat claims that the updated model is longer and wider than before, which gives more interior space.
Along with the 7-inch driver-facing display, there is a 10.25-inch central touchscreen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Fiat rates the 500e’s range at 240 km and its battery capacity is 42 kWh.
Fiat 500e 2024 “sings a song to pedestrians”, notifying of its presence
Interestingly, the 500e will be sold with a Level 2 charger that buyers can install in their garage or driveway. When connected to a Level 2 network (faster than a regular socket, but not as fast as public DC fast charging), Fiat says the hatchback can charge the battery in four hours and 15 minutes. At fast charging stations, charging from 0 to 80% will take 35 minutes. The 500e’s maximum charging power is 85 kW.
At low speeds, the 500e doesn’t just make the typical electric car rumble. The car, as Fiat claims, “sings”: “The Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) “sings” to pedestrians a song called The sound of 500, written by Flavio Ibba-Marco Gualdi. The exclusive melody brings a sense of Italian culture into the first minutes of every journey,” says Fiat.
