The GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card is impressive in its performance, but against the background of the RTX 3090, it does not impress with the amount of memory. Recall that the first received 10 GB and the second – 24 GB. However, even before the announcement, there were suggestions that the RTX 3080 version with 20 GB of memory could be released later. In addition, it can get more CUDA cores and even come out under the name RTX 3080 Super or RTX 3080 Ti.
GeForce RTX 3080 with 20 GB of memory seems to actually be released
Earlier in the documents of Nvidia was found an indication of the release of such a version – PG132 SKU 20. Now in the latest documents of the company, they found not an indication, but a hint that such a version is being prepared. In the comparative table, which lists the RTX 2080, RTX 2080 Super, and RTX 3080, only for the latter the memory size is indicated – 10 GB.
And this is a direct hint that there will be a version with a different amount of memory. So far, the most logical assumption is that the RTX 3080 with 20 GB of memory will be released after the announcement of the Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards – Nvidia will be able to adjust to the competitor’s prices.
We can assume that the RTX 3080 with 20 GB of memory will be more expensive than the current version by about $ 100.
