Google unexpectedly discontinued the Pixel 4 and 4 XL

At the time of this writing, the devices were still in the Google Store catalog in the USA – probably the online store found some remnants in the warehouses. In addition, smartphones are still available in some other countries and are still available from a number of Google partners. But there may be limitations. For example, a model of interest may be available in only one color and without the ability to select the amount of built-in storage.
It’s unusual that Google is discontinuing its smartphones so quickly. For example, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 series was on sale for about 18 months each. As for Google 4/4 XL, they started selling in October 2019, that is, they have been on the market for only 9 months. If the information about the discontinuation of the Pixel 4 and 4 XL is correct, then until Pixel 5 is released this fall, Google will be left without a flagship smartphone.
The Pixel 4a was announced on August 3, but will only be on sale from August 20. It is also a mid-range smartphone priced at $ 349. It is powered by a Snapdragon 730 processor and comes with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of flash, and a 5.81-inch display with Full HD + resolution.
