GTA V with 130 million copies sold, Red Dead Redemption 2 exceeds 30 million

GTA V is unstoppable, Take-Two’s latest financial results speak for themselves. And to think that the title has been on the market since September 2013.

Almost seven years that do not seem to have minimally affected the game’s ability to attract new users, to the point that in the last quarter (ended March 31) other 10 million copies were sold, thanks to which GTA V has exceeded the incredible figure of 130 million copies sold in total. An undoubtedly impressive result, which fortifies its second position in the ranking of best-selling games ever. In front of him, we find only Minecraft, with over 200 million copies.

The enormous success of GTA V is mainly due to the excellent performance achieved by the online sector of the game since GTA Online continues to attract millions of players thanks to the constant support and addition of new events and content. A similar scenario is also found by looking at the numbers of Red Dead Redemption 2, which has reached 31 million copies sold. Also, in this case, the excellent single-player campaign has been joined by a solid online sector, namely, Red Dead Online, which allows keeping the interest of the players high almost two years after the launch.

Recently GTA V has been offered for free (in the PC version only) through the Epic Games Store offers, while Red Dead Redemption 2 has become part of the package of games included in the Xbox Game Pass for consoles.
