The hack was implemented based on an exploit called checkm8 bootrom
According to iDownloadBlog, the makers of the iPhone jailbreak tool have confirmed a hack to the new iOS 16 operating system released this fall, but the list of supported devices is still small.
Hacker palera1n claims that the jailbreak will also be available on iOS 16.1.1 and iPadOS 16 for iPad tablets. Apple’s operating system was hacked using an exploit called checkm8 bootrom.
t is clarified that so far the jailbreak can be installed on the following devices:
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- iPad Pro 10.5 inch
- iPad Pro 12.9″ (2nd generation)
The developers point out that if the user has not set a password, then he can immediately jailbreak or disable it first. If the password has been set and not disabled, then you will have to reset the device to factory settings.
So far, the jailbreak does not work on devices based on the Apple A12 and newer models. Before installing a jailbreak, you must enable developer mode.
