Honor introduced inexpensive tablets Pad 6 and Pad 6X with high-quality sound
During IFA 2020, which is being held in limited format due to COVID-19 this year, Honor unveiled the low-cost Pad 6 with a 10.1-inch Full HD (1200 × 1920) screen and dual high-amplitude speakers with Histen technology. 6.1.
The device weighs only 460 grams, and the thickness of the aluminum body is 7.55 mm. It is based on a Kirin 710A 14nm single-chip system (four Cortex-A73 @ 2 GHz and four Cortex-A53 @ 1.7 GHz, Mali-G51 MP4 graphics). The base configuration can offer 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. There is also a variant with 4/64 GB.
An important feature is supported along with Wi-Fi Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS, as well as cellular LTE (nano-SIM). Thanks to this, Honor Pad 6 is suitable for both everyday uses at home and for travel. A 2-megapixel front camera is complemented by a 5-megapixel rear one.
The device can offer a special almost black-and-white mode for reading e-books, in which, according to the manufacturer, the eyes are also less tired. There is a mode for children – Kids Corner. The device is running Android 10 with Magic UI 3.1 shell. Google Play services, of course, are not due to US sanctions, but there is a branded AppGallery application store.
Also presented is the more affordable Honor Pad X6 with a 9.7-inch screen and a resolution of 1280 × 800. At the same time, the tablet is still enclosed in an aluminum case, uses the same Kirin 710A chip, but this time it is offered only in a 3/32 memory configuration GB. Like the older model, the Pad X6 offers 2MP front and 5MP rear cameras and dual speakers. There is no GPS and LTE support.
