Huawei has quietly started selling an updated version of the MateBook D 14 SE laptop. Unlike last year’s update based on Intel Alder Lake processors, the 2023 version has changes that are noticeable at first glance.

Huawei has released a noticeably changed MateBook D 14 SE

The updated Huawei MateBook D 14 SE has switched to a more modern screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The IPS panel is still 14 inches across but offers a peak brightness of 300 cd/m². Other changes under the hood include an Intel Raptor Lake processor (Core i5-13420H), twice the amount of RAM (16 GB LPDDR4X). The storage capacity remains the same – 512 GB, just as the battery has not changed – capacity 56 Wh.

A couple more visual changes are a small protrusion at the top edge near the webcam, as well as a 3.5 mm jack that has moved to the opposite side. The new MateBook D 14 SE is available in China at a temporarily reduced price – from $574 to $547.
