Hyundai Exter Gets New Variants with Sunroof

Hyundai has introduced two new variants of the Exter, the S Plus and S(O) Plus. These new variants are equipped with a sunroof, making this popular feature more accessible to buyers.

Pricing and Features

The Exter S(O) Plus is priced at Rs 7.86 lakh, while the S Plus is priced at Rs 8.44 lakh. Both variants come with a 1.2-liter petrol engine and are available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission.

In addition to the sunroof, the new variants offer an 8-inch touchscreen, a semi-digital driver’s display, manual AC with rear vents, cruise control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and all power windows. The S Plus variant also features electrically foldable ORVMs.

For safety, both variants come equipped with six airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a hill-start assist.

Comparison with Other Variants

The Exter S(O) Plus slots in between the S(O) and SX variants, while the Exter S Plus sits between the S and SX variants. Both new variants are available with the 1.2-liter petrol engine, but the S(O) Plus comes with a manual transmission, while the S Plus is paired with an AMT.

Sunroof Accessibility

With the introduction of these new variants, the sunroof on the Exter has become more affordable. The sunroof is priced at Rs 37,000 for the manual lineup and Rs 46,000 for the AMT lineup.

The Hyundai Exter competes with several other sub-4m crossovers in the Indian market, including the Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Citroen C3, Toyota Taisor, and Maruti Fronx.
