They were created in the Hyundai WIA division
Manufacturer of auto parts and artillery Hyundai WIA presented at the South Korean military exhibition ADEX-2023 a prototype of a mobile complex designed to combat drones.
The system, equipped with means of electronic suppression and fire destruction, was installed on an army SUV produced by Hyundai’s subsidiary Kia.
Official information states that the radar will be able to detect targets at a distance of 5 km, and electronic jamming systems will be able to disable the drone at a distance of 3 km.
Hyundai presented an anti-drone swarm system, an armored car, and a tank
Developers from Hyundai WIA claim that the prototype can fight a “swarm of drones” while installing it on an SUV increases mobility and provides tactical flexibility for use.
Finally, Hyundai WIA added that the stationary version of the system is ready for production, and the UAE and Saudi Arabia are interested in development.
Hyundai Rotem also took part in the exhibition, presenting a model of the “next generation” 30-ton wheeled armored vehicle currently in development and the concept of an improved export version of the K2 tank (K2EX).
