The novelty will not be so cheap
We’ve previously written that Sony is preparing to expand its range of full-frame mirrorless cameras with the A7C – it should take the best of the a6600 system camera and the a7 III full-frame camera. We suggest that you familiarize yourself with the image of the novelty, its characteristics, and price.
Image, price, and specifications of the Sony A7C mirrorless camera with a full-frame sensor
As you can see in the photo, the A7C really turned out to be very compact (the letter “C” in the name is from the word compact). The source notes that its design is similar to that of the a6600. The lens is also clearly visible, covering the focal length range from 28 to 60 mm – the camera can be purchased with it in a kit for 2850 USD. For the A7C itself, they will ask 2500 USD, and this is a lot. However, prices have not yet been approved.
Now about the characteristics. The A7C has an “old” 24MP image sensor and an “old” 2.3MP electronic viewfinder. There will be a built-in stabilization system (In Body Image Stabilization – IBIS), a movable touchscreen “reduced resolution” and a mode of 4K video recording at 24 or 30 fps without cropping. The prototype also shot 4K video at 50 or 60 fps without a crop, but in the production version in these modes, there will be a crop, albeit small. Worse yet, there is no radiator, which guarantees overheating problems. There is no built-in flash either.
Also in the Sony A7C – 3.5 mm jacks for connecting a microphone and headphones, one slot for SDHC memory cards, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11ac adapters, NP-FZ100 battery with a capacity of 2280 mAh. Alas, the date of the announcement of the camera is not named.
