El Capitan, we recall, will be based on the latest Instinct MI300 accelerators, which combine Zen 4 processor cores, CDNA 3 GPUs and HBM3 memory.
The example of the supercomputer market shows how rapidly these technologies have been developing recently. The Top500 leader, the Frontier system, was launched over a year ago, and is still almost three times superior to its closest competitor, the Fugaku system.
