Intel wanted to use Intel 20A norms

Perhaps Intel again has problems with the development of new technical processes. According to recent data, Arrow Lake processors, which are expected next year, will not be manufactured at Intel facilities, but at TSMC factories.

Initially, Intel itself talked about the Intel 20A process technology for these CPUs, but insider @Xinoassassin1, who at one time accurately described many of the characteristics of the Nvidia Ada Lovelace architecture and specific GPU models, says that Arrow Lake will be produced by TSMC according to N3B standards, that is, according to the process technology 3 nm.

This is also confirmed by another source – the Golden Pig Upgrade Pack insider, who at one time shared Intel Adler Lake CPU performance leaks.

It is worth noting here that, according to early data from Intel itself, Arrow Lake, like the upcoming Meteor Lake, will be chiplet CPUs (Intel calls chiplets tiles), and different manufacturing processes will be used for different chiplets. The Intel 20A would have been used for the CPU chiplet, and the iGPU would have been manufactured by TSMC. Now, apparently, TSMC will also deal with the processor chiplet.

By the way, similar information previously appeared regarding Meteor Lake, where the GPU chiplet was eventually transferred to the production of TSMC, although Intel itself initially wanted to release it.
