Apple today officially unveiled the cheap iPad 8. A new feature is the new single-chip Apple A12 platform. It is new, of course, for the regular iPad, but not for Apple itself (for example, the iPad Air 2019 is built on its basis). This SoC is configured with a quad-core GPU and a six-core CPU. According to Apple’s own estimates, the new product has a 40% more powerful CPU and 2 times more powerful GPU in comparison with its predecessor. It is also three times more powerful than your average Android tablet and six times the most powerful Chromebook. IPad OS 14 is used as a software platform.

The tablet received a 10.2-inch screen (previously a 9.7-inch screen was used), support for the Apple Pencil stylus, a FaceTime HD front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera, an LTE modem, and, probably most importantly, a USB-C port. As for autonomy, it is 10 hours.
The iPad 8 will be available in the US starting Friday. The cost for individual users is $ 330, for educational institutions – $ 300. Prices in Russia are as follows: Wi-Fi version – 400 Dollars, Wi-Fi + LTE version – 560 Dollars. The device will be offered in three colors (silver, dark gray, and gold) and two memory versions – 32 and 128 GB.
