iOS 16.1 beta integrates the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island

One of the novelties of the iPhone 14 Pro is the Dynamic Island. In the current stable version of iOS 16, the Dynamic Island does not change positioning with the Ease of Access function, but this has changed in the first beta of iOS 16.1.

When using iPhone, you can use the Ease of Access to lower the top half of the screen, so you can reach the top icons with one hand as well. It’s a feature that Apple has relied heavily on as iPhone screens have gotten bigger over the years.

In iOS 16 on an iPhone 14 Pro, the feature pulls down the top half of the screen as usual, but the Dynamic Island , however, remains at the top of the display. As Tech-up on Twitter pointed out, however, this behavior changed with the latest iOS 16.1 beta. With this software version, in fact, the Dynamic Island integrates with the Ease of Access function, then moves to the lower half of the screen. This is especially useful on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which features a 6.7-inch display.

Here’s how to activate the Accessibility feature:

  1. Go to Settings> Accessibility> Touch , then turn on Ease of Access

To lower the top half of the screen, do one of the following:

  • On an iPhone with Face ID: Swipe down on the bottom edge of the screen
  • On an iPhone with a Home button: Lightly tap the Home button
  • To return to the full screen, tap the top half of the screen.
