The cutout at the top center of the screen will become noticeably smaller, and additional space for application shortcuts will appear on the sides of the bangs. It was possible to reduce the size of the bangs due to the displacement of the loudspeaker cutout to the upper edge of the smartphone, as well as due to the transition to D-ToF (Direct ToF) technology.

As shown in the second image, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will retain the square camera block, only in the iPhone 13, the modules have changed their position, due to which the smartphone can be immediately distinguished from the iPhone 12. It is reported that all smartphones of the iPhone 13 line will receive LTPO displays with adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz, Apple A15 Bionic SoC, and Wi-Fi 6E support.

TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the  Face ID sub-screen camera system will only be implemented in iPhones in 2023. He added that next year the iPhone 14 will receive a 48-megapixel 1 / 1.3-inch optical format sensor.
