GAC designers had a blast with the GAC Emkoo SUV, and the GS4 got a more classic look
The Chinese Ministry of Industry has published images and technical specifications of the GAC GS4 crossover. This car is a version of the previously introduced GAC Emkoo SUV, but with a less avant-garde design borrowed from… Toyota RAV4. Of course, we are not talking about completely copying the Japanese hit, but the similarity in the external design of the two models (both front and rear) is difficult not to notice.
The dimensions of the new GAC GS4 are 4685 x 1901 x 1690 mm with a wheelbase of 2750 mm. If we compare the new model with its predecessor, the length has increased by 140 mm, the wheelbase has increased by 70 mm. Approach and departure angles are 19° and 24° respectively, which is typical for a crossover.
It turned out to be similar to the Toyota RAV4
Under the hood of the GAC GS4 is a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 177 hp. There is no data on the gearbox, but it could be either a 6-speed automatic (like the current generation GAC GS4) or a 7-speed robot.
Whether GAC GS4 will appear in Russia is unknown. At the moment, the Russian line of crossovers and SUVs is represented by GAC GS8 and GS5, and the GS5 should be replaced by the new GS3. It is possible that over time the line will expand and will include a larger number of models.
