A Call to Action: Vote Like a Madre

The Vote Like a Madre campaign, a nonpartisan initiative, aims to educate the public on climate issues and encourage Latina voter participation. Alba’s powerful speech highlighted the critical role that voters play in shaping the future of our planet. “This is a major, major year… Voting like a Madre is channeling that Latina energy of someone who is the center of the household,” she declared.

Alba stressed that climate action is not just about protecting the planet but also safeguarding the well-being of future generations. “For too long we’ve believed the lie that we can’t do anything about it,” she said. “But it actually makes a huge difference… One person can make that difference.”

A Star-Studded Event

The Brunch Like a Madre rally was attended by a host of influential figures, including Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Camila Cabello, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Their presence underscored the growing momentum behind the climate movement and the importance of diverse voices in advocating for change.

The Latino Victory Project’s Mission

The Latino Victory Project, under the leadership of Katharine Pichardo-Erskine, is committed to increasing Latina voter turnout and empowering the Latino community. The organization’s 2024 campaign is focused on Arizona, a swing state where Latino voters can play a decisive role in elections.

By highlighting the disproportionate impact of climate change on Latino communities, the Latino Victory Project is urging voters to take action and protect their families and future generations. “Climate change is not a distant threat,” Pichardo-Erskine emphasized. “Our campaign aims to make this issue personal, empowering Latina moms to take action.”
