The South Korean company spoke about its plans for the future, bringing up the topic of the new generation of Kia Rio and electric vehicles during the Investor Day, which was recently held in Seoul.

Today, Kia sets the bar higher. Up to this point, the South Korean manufacturer had planned to sell 1.2 million electric vehicles annually by 2030. Now the plan has been changed to 1.6 million electric vehicles every year. This will account for more than a third (37%) of all sales: in 2030 they should amount to about 4.3 million vehicles worldwide.

In 2027, Kia’s electric vehicle lineup will include 15 models. It is also noted that each model will have a high-performance version of the GT, which can be positioned as a separate model.

Kia recently revealed the 2024 Kia ​​EV9 lineup and confirmed that a high-performance model of a mid-size three-row SUV called the EV9 GT is also in development. At the end of the year, the EV5 model will be released, initially in China, but then worldwide.

Kia plans to produce more low-cost electric vehicles by cutting battery prices by 55% by 2030.
