The Lenovo Thinkpads are also in the process of updating with the new AMD Ryzen 4000 series processors, thus following in the footsteps of the Legion brand gaming laptops. Specifically, the new models will be two: ThinkPad E14 and ThinkPad E15, which can be equipped with processors up to the Ryzen 7 7400U. In addition, Lenovo says the ThinkPads of the T, X and L series announced in February will be available “very soon”. These laptops are equipped with Ryzen PRO 4000 processors.
The two new laptops are designed, according to Lenovo, for small and medium-sized businesses. Compared to the previous generation, the screen/body ratio improves, which now reaches 85%, and for the first time in the E series, fingerprint scanners (integrated in the power button) and an optional infrared camera with tracking technology of the debut eye via software developed by Mirametrix. The software, which is called Glance, allows you to automatically lock the laptop if the user moves away, and offers some optimizations in multi-monitor use scenarios.
Onboard there are also Harman speakers with Dolby Audio support, and a dual wide-range microphone for the best possible quality during video conferences. The keyboard has shortcuts to Microsoft Teams and Skype Business. Finally, there is an optional module for Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
The two laptops will be available from June 2020; the list prices of the basic configurations will be $ 639. We currently have no information for Europe or Italy.
