“ We have agreed with the Chinese on the licensed production of our cars. I think there are two brands. Therefore, we will have our own Belarusian car. If we are already hooked on this, then we will reach the production of our own absolutely, almost one hundred percent Belarusian car. A quality car ,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
With one of the brands, everything is clear – this is Geely, some of whose models in Belarus are being transformed into BelGee. This has already happened with the Geely Coolray crossover, but later the Geely Atlas crossover and the Geely Emgrand sedan will also be produced under the BelGee brand. But what kind of second brand is still unknown. Earlier it was said that in Belarus they could start assembling Hongqi premium cars, but there are no new details on this.

Lukashenka also spoke about Geely and the high demand for these cars: they are practically not available for free sale – the ordered car has to wait for several months.

On the other hand, I am glad that there is a demand for this car. In the first months there were doubts. But I was hoping that people would still buy this car. He is good, he is ours. And with all the shortcomings (I often had to connect to the issues of repairs and spare parts), we still keep it under control and will promote this car , ”said Lukashenka.
