Several users of 2013 and 2014 13-inch MacBook Pro users report problems after updating to macOS Big Sur.

In some cases, installing macOS Big Sur has completely blocked these MacBook Pros, with no possibility of a reset.

Users report that while updating and installing macOS Big Sur, MacBook Pros get stuck on a black screen. Key combinations to activate Safe Mode or Internet Recovery are also useless, as there seems to be no solution to get out of this black screen.

At the moment, the problem is limited to MacBook Pro 2013 and 2014, which are some of the older devices supported by the new operating system.

Apple is aware of the problem and some affected MacBooks have already been brought in for service. While waiting for further updates from Apple, the advice is not to risk installing macOS Big Sur on these models.
