Magic: The Gathering Arena Replenished With Cards From Strixhaven: School of Mages
Wizards of the Coast has announced the premiere of the next installment of Magic: The Gathering in the digital version of its collectible card game, Strixhaven: School of Mages, now available in Magic: The Gathering Arena.
The issue is built around Strixhaven, the most elite university in the Multiverse. It has five faculties (colleges) named after the elder dragon who founded them.
Silverville, Prismari, Viserbloom, Lorkhold, and Quandrix (the so-called faculties) reflect their own view of magic and have one color combination with their own character and mechanics.
“Strixhaven: School of Mages” has 275 cards, including 16 double-sided copies. The entire list can be found on a dedicated page on the official Wizards of the Coast website.
The release that became available introduces the term “mana value,” which is actually a modified form of the concept “converted mana cost.”
With the release of Strixhaven: School of Mages, Magic: The Gathering introduces new mechanics, including two new keyword actions: Learn a Lesson and Ward. Developers told more about each system in a separate article.
Magic: The Gathering Arena is available on PC, iOS, and Android. Until the end of this year, Wizards of the Coast plans to release three more issues – Adventures in Forgotten Worlds (summer) and two sets in Innistrad (autumn).
