Mahindra’s Electric Future: XEV 9e and BE 6e Teased

Mahindra is gearing up to electrify the Indian automotive market with the launch of two new electric SUVs: the XEV 9e and the BE 6e. These two models, which were previously known as the XUV e9 and BE.05, respectively, will be built on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform.

A Glimpse into the Future

A recent teaser video provided a sneak peek into the design of these upcoming electric SUVs. Both models feature a sleek and futuristic design language, with sharp lines, bold contours, and aerodynamic profiles. The XEV 9e, in particular, stands out with its distinctive lighting signature and sporty stance.

Interior Innovations

The interior of the BE 6e has also been partially revealed, showcasing a minimalist and tech-focused cabin. The dual-screen setup, reminiscent of modern Tesla models, dominates the dashboard. The steering wheel, with its minimalist design and illuminated logo, adds a touch of futuristic elegance.

Power and Performance

While specific details about the powertrains are still under wraps, Mahindra has confirmed that the INGLO platform will support both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations. The XEV 9e, positioned as a flagship SUV, is expected to offer a more powerful and feature-rich experience, potentially including a larger battery pack and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The BE 6e, on the other hand, is likely to be a more affordable and compact option, targeting the mass market. It will likely feature a smaller battery pack and a less powerful electric motor, but still offer a decent range and performance.

Key Features and Expectations

Both the XEV 9e and BE 6e are expected to come equipped with a range of advanced features, including:

  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): Features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking could be offered.
  • Panoramic Sunroof: Enhancing the cabin ambience and providing a spacious feel.
  • Premium Audio System: Delivering high-quality audio for an immersive listening experience.
  • Wireless Charging: Conveniently charging compatible devices.
  • Connected Car Technology: Offering features like remote control, over-the-air updates, and real-time vehicle information.

The Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e are set to be officially unveiled on November 26, 2024. Bookings for both models are expected to open soon after the launch.

While exact pricing details have not been revealed, industry experts predict that the XEV 9e could be priced around Rs 38 lakh, while the BE 6e may start at around Rs 24 lakh (ex-showroom).
