Previously, it became possible to get rid of the “Camera” and Cortana
Windows 11 build 25931, currently available for public testing on the Canary Channel, brings a small but welcome change: the operating system allows you to uninstall more pre-installed stock apps.
Users can simply right-click the app’s icon and select “Uninstall” to free up a few megabytes and make the Start menu cleaner.
Microsoft allowed the removal of standard applications in Windows 11
According to the build notes for 25931, Windows 11 now allows you to uninstall the Photos app, the People app, and the Remote Desktop Client (MSTSC).
Only the Photos app is available in the Start menu. It, like the remote desktop, can be deleted through the Settings application.
Previously, Microsoft allowed you to uninstall the Camera app and Cortana without using complex non-standard methods such as winget or third-party solutions.
